What a Blessing!

I'm sitting here next to the Sea of Galilee and it's 36'C out! I'm just talking to my mom about the miracles Yeshua preformed here. Yeshua walked on these waters, He fed the 5000 on the shores and he calmed the waters. It's such a blessing to actually be here where Yeshua walked and talked!

The boys are swimming and mom and I are sitting in the shade and we all are enjoying the experience!

Below are some pictures of my family and me at the Sea if Galilee!

Where Have All The Palm Leaves Gone??

Okay, so I woke up this morning and looked out the window and noticed that all the Palm Trees up our street had little tiny remains of leaves and the rest where gone! The reason they cut them is for Sukkot! During Sukkot people make sukkahs and sukkahs are temporary dwellings that people make for themselves for Sukkot. The roofs are made of palm leaves so that's why the palm trees are all cut down on our street! So within the next week or so we should see people have sukkahs on their decks or backyards. It's such a blessing to see people getting ready or the feast!

Below is a picture of the Palm Trees on our street. Sorry for the bad quality..but it's as close as I could get from my deck.

Doo Doo Lets Get On The Bus!

Okay, so the only way to get around for cheap is to take the bus. So far in one week I've taken the bus probably 10 or more times. I got a Bus Pass last...uhhh...Tuesday or Wednesday. Getting a bus pass is cheaper because for one bus fair one way is 2.7 shekels. If you have a bus pass and fill it for a full day it's 4.4 shekels and that lasts as many times as you need it for that day. So that's why I got a bus pass to save some money.

The bus is fun in a way...but it's bumpy. I like taking the bus..but I don't like waiting for the bus. There are 12 different busses you can take. I thought that was cool because the number 12 is mentioned numbers of times in the Bible. So I just though it was cool :)

Another thing is that it's common to see little kids riding the bus by themselves. Its just normal to see kids under 12 walking late at night and riding the bus by themselves. The first time I saw this I thought, who is crazy enough to let their kid run around all over without supervision?! But apparently it's normal to see that here. In Canada, you would never see something like that! Its just different here! =D

Below is a picture of Elijah riding the bus! (no, he is not by himself..mom is sitting across from him)

Yom Kippur

Tomorrow is Yom Kippur. Another name for Yom Kippur is The Day of Atonement. It's a day of fasting and repenting. The streets of Israel will be silent. This is the day to get right with the King and your family and friends. This is also the future Judgment day when YHVH will judge his people. I know that I personally want to make sure I'm right with my friends, family and YHVH before the sun sets in Tiberias.

You can find out more about Yom Kippur in the Bible. Just look up, Leviticus 23:26-32.

All of the television shows are done until tomorrow at sunset! There is nothing left to watch and we can't find any channels that have something playing! Other than Fox and BBC which are American channels. This is due to the Holiest Day of the year which is Yom Kippur.

Its SO Different!

First off, it's well hot here. It's like 30 degrees C everyday and there is absolutely no wind! So, every time we go to get food or something, we have to walk and we sweat and sweat and we almost pass out because of the heat. Okay, does it sound like I'm complaining? Sorry..I'm not but Im just getting my point across. lol

Second of all, everyone who drives honks all the time! No joke! They just don't honk once but like...3-4 times! I'm actually starting to get used to it and I've only been here what? 4 days? Wow..apparently Israelis like to honk their horns!

Another thing is the Shook. (market) My, my it's quite an experience just to go there and look around! The Shook is like the farmers market but it Looks like something you would see in Mexico. The shook sells fruits and veggies and also fresh baked bread! The fruits and veggies here are SO much bigger than they are back in Canada, but they aren't imported from other countries so they are seasonal. Right now Mangos are in season. I haven't had a mango from here yet, but I've heard they are so juicy and not to hairy.

The thing I LOVE about being here is that it's illegal to sell un-kosher food! So, at the candy store I can have anything and not have to worry about it being un-kosher! Woot!

Below are some pictures of the shook and candy store. Oh, another thing is there are lots of Pigeons here...lol

Light Show @ Downtown Tiberius

Check this out! It's a water and light show and it takes place every night once an hour! Its at downtown Tiberius and I think it ends after Sukkot.

Safe in Israel!

We landed safely in the Holy Land! Oh my, just seeing it for the first time from the airplane window at night was such a blessing! I was just overwhelmed with joy and happiness!

We arrived at our apartment in Tiberias at 6am last Friday. Our wonderful friends were there waiting for us! Our apartment is beautiful! We have a glorious view of the Sea of Galilee. It's like 30 degrees Celsius everyday here and there is no wind!

I'm just trying to get a sleeping schedule together here...I'm jet legged!

Below are some pictures of the view from our deck on our apartment.
